INTRODUCTION- Respected sir and dear friends today my seminar topic is quality control of concrete mix in plastic stage. Forever 150 years concrete has been widely used as a construction material and it is important for the civil engineering student to understand the over all concrete operation and the properties like the strength, durability, workability etc. and also ingredients like cement, sand, aggregates, water and admixtures if any. Having suitable knowledge of quality control mix of concrete and to apply it in construction work like road, bridge, building, dams, etc. The basic knowledge of concrete that is properties, its behavior, and various testing methods is an essential and important part of civil engineering student. DEFINATION- Quality control of concrete mix means to achieve the proper stability and durability of concrete mix.

UTILIZATION OF WASTE PLASTIC BAGS IN ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Disposal of waste plastic bags from the domestic has become a become a major problem to the agencies in the cities. The waste plastic bags available in the dogmatic waste plastic mainly consist of lowdensity polyethylene .plastic bags dumped in the dustbins find their way into the drainage system and clog them. Often, these are burnt along the roadside ,which produces fumes causing air pollution. This seminar emphasizes on the laboratory evaluation on the bituminous mixes for utilization of plastic bags in the road construction.the laboratory performance studies were conducted on bituminous concrete mixes a dence mix used as a surface course in road construction.the laboratory studies proved that waste plastic enhances the property of the mix in addition to providing for the way for it

Smart polymers

Smart polymers or stimuli-responsive polymers are high-performance polymers that change according to the environment they are in.

ionomer

An ionomer is a polymer that comprises repeat units of both electrically neutral repeating units and a fraction of ionized units (usually no more than 15 percent). Ionomers have unique physical properties including electrical conductivity and isoviscosity -- increase in ionomer solution viscosity with increasing temperatures (see conducting polymer). Some commercial applications for ionomers are golf ball covers, semipermeable membranes, sealing tape and thermoplastic elastomers.

CONDUCTIVE POLYMERS

Conductive polymers or, more precisely, intrinsically conducting polymers (ICPs) are organic polymers that conduct electricity. Such compounds may have metallic conductivity or can be semiconductors. The biggest advantage of conductive polymers is their processability, mainly by dispersion. Conductive polymers are generally not plastics, i.e., they are not thermoformable. But, like insulating polymers, they are organic materials. They can offer high electrical conductivity but do not show mechanical properties as other commercially used polymers do. The electrical properties can be fine-tuned using the methods of organic synthesis and by advanced dispersion techniques.
